Biography
Dr. Kathryn Clifton is CRS' global lead for data analytics. She and her team focus on scaling artificial intelligence to answer core questions like who is at risk for food insecurity, who is at risk for water insecurity, and what will food prices be in the future. They also focus on answering general questions like who is not showing up to program activities and what approach is working best. They have scaled 62 advanced analytical algorithms to countries across the world.
Dr. Clifton has a Ph.D. from Texas A&M in Ecosystem Science where she focused on satellite imagery analysis. She has lived and worked in the Philippines, Jordan, and Mexico, where she applied science to humanitarian development. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
