Having worked in Indonesia for more than two decades, Yenni has been a first responder to some of the world's deadliest natural disasters, including typhoons, earthquakes, floods and landslides. As head of CRS Indonesia, she was an integral part of the organization's response to the 2018 Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami, and to the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Biography
Based in Jakarta, Yenni Suryani leads Catholic Relief Services' (CRS) efforts in Indonesia, overseeing programs that help people recover after devastating natural disasters and programs that help communities prepare for emergencies in a country that’s located in the “Ring of Fire,” an area of the Pacific that’s especially prone to volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.
Yenni began her career with CRS in 1993; she’s since responded to countless emergencies, including working on the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, which killed more than 200,000 people, and to this day is considered one of the worst natural disasters in recorded history. More recently, Yenni led the CRS response to the earthquake and tsunami that devastated central Sulawesi in 2018.
